过压保护装置可由四部分组成：前级高额定（高残压）浪涌保护器，检测模快，动作机构，后级低额定（低残压）浪涌保护器。显而易见这样一来解决了上述矛盾，这里就不细说了。关于动作机构的设计挺有讲究，简要的说需考虑宽范围、能自动恢复等；而这里就重点谈一下检测模快的选型与应用。在此方案中检测模快可以说是核心，选择不当不仅本身的故障率较高，又不能达到方案的预期保护效果。
监测模快的选型与应用
所以该模块需有下列要求：
1．电源直接取自被监视电压，但能承受至少2KV的峰值电压；
2．为适应开关电源的宽范围过压点在275V，恢复点在265V，欠压点在150V，恢复点在160V；
3．保护不要延时，检测到故障及时切断电源；但恢复正常要延时，这样可以使设备避过复杂的过渡过程，如在交流停电到来电，很多设备都在这时刻损坏，因为存在交流停电时好多设备是不断电的，而当来电时好多设备是同时启动，那么此刻的电网的情况就十分复杂。另外雷电也不是一个单一的波，他可能持续一断时间，可以使设备避开后续的雷电波。
4．选用带中心线的电压监测模块动作判定的依据是相电压，只要任一相电压超过正常范围而动作而不是间接的参数线电压，从而有效的保护严重的三相不平衡与相线对地短路引起的过电压。
